The Best Vegetarian Restaurants in Da Nang, Vietnam
Traveling as a vegetarian isn’t always easy, but luckily being a vegetarian in Vietnam is actually pretty amazing — and Da Nang is no exception. At this point, I’ve spent quite a bit of time in this central Vietnamese city, and I’ve spent a fair bit of that time hunting down the very best vegetarian food in Da Nang.
I’ve had a chance to sample all sorts of vegetarian, vegan and vegetarian-friendly restaurants in town and have eaten everything from traditional Vietnamese dishes to Mexican food to vegan ramen. If you’re a vegetarian or vegan and are looking for places to eat, here are my favorite vegetarian restaurants in Da Nang!
Most of these places are in the beachside area of My Khe and An Thuong since that’s where I usually base myself. But I also visited a few places in the city center. I separated them into sections. Also note, that some of these places are pure vegetarian, while others offer vegetarian and vegan options. I’ve made notes so you know what to expect.
By the way, if you’re traveling around Vietnam, here are some of my other vegetarian city guides:
My picks for the best vegetarian restaurants in Da Nang
Da Nang Vegetarian Restaurants Near My Khe Beach
Annen Yoga & Vegetarian Danang
This was one of my go-to Da Nang vegetarian restaurants. It’s a cozy restaurant that serves up vegetarian versions of regional specialties, such as cau lau noodles and mi quang noodles. My favorite dishes are the cau lau noodles (50,000₫) and the tofu and mushroom banh mi (pictured above, 50,000₫). This place is a hidden gem and the staff is super friendly.

Chay Corner – Vietnamese Dumplings
This place specializes in Hue-style dumplings and if you ask me, it’s one of the very best vegetarian restaurants in Da Nang. The dumplings are stuffed with things like soft peas, tofu and seaweed (25-30,000₫ per dish).
Portions are small so feel free to order a bunch. We tried them all and they were all delicious. They also have three types of banh mi (20,000₫ each). The “vegetarian sausage” version (pictured above) was stuffed with all sorts of veggies and mock meats and is one of my favorite renditions of vegetarian banh mi that I’ve had since moving to Vietnam.
And that’s saying a lot! They also have all sorts of little side dishes and fresh juices. The customer service is above and beyond and they deliver using eco-friendly packages for a small fee, which I really appreciate.

Loving Vegan
If you’re looking for Da Nang vegetarian restaurants that serve a range of international and Vietnamese foods, this little vegan eatery is a must. If you need a break from Vietnamese food, the menu features things like cauliflower tempura (which gets rave reviews), gyros, pizzas, burritos and sandwiches.
I came for the mi quang (30,000₫) and it was by far the best veg rendition of the dish that I’ve had in Da Nang. They also serve a handful of other Vietnamese staples.

Roots Plant-Based Café
If you’re looking for healthy vegetarian restaurants in Da Nang, this is the place. Roots serves up smoothie bowls, Buddha bowls, wraps, sandwiches and plant-based burgers. I tried the Rainbow Buddha Bowl (pictured above) and it was filled with all sorts of healthy veggies, from beets to sweet potato to cucumber. Dishes are around 50-100,000₫.

Tacos Danang
It’s definitely not the best Mexican food in the world (duh, this is Southeast Asia) but I just can’t resist sampling every Mexican food place I come across in Asia. Coming from Southern California, I’m really picky about my Mexican food and I actually really enjoyed the food here!
Everything — from quesadillas to tacos to burritos — has a vegetarian version. The tacos and burritos are also served vegan. The servers make a point of asking if you want vegan or vegetarian versions. Also, compared to most Mexican restaurants in Southeast Asia this place is actually cheap. Vegetarian dishes cost roughly 60,000₫. It’s a decent option if you’re looking for something different.

Da Nang Vegetarian Restaurants in Downtown
Ngoc Chi
If you’re looking for affordable Da Nang vegetarian restaurants, this is a great place. It’s no-frills and super cheap. Their menu is listed on the wall and it is absolutely massive.
They have it all from mock meat stuffed banh mi to steaming bowls of all sorts of noodle soups to a variety of noodle and rice dishes. I’m fairly certain everything is vegan, but you might want to double-check. It’s very affordable. My banh mi put me back 25,000₫.

Thien Duyen
Hidden down an alley, this super local hole-in-the-wall restaurant serves up rice and noodle dishes and bowls of noodle soup for about 25,000₫. The menu is in Vietnamese and from what I gathered the owners don’t speak English. We just pointed to the cau lau and it was super good.

Helpful Tips:
Join a Facebook Group
Be sure to join the Vegetarians and Vegans in Da Nang Facebook group. I found a bunch of these restaurants through people in this group. The veg community is super friendly and helpful.
Download the Happy Cow App
This app is the love of my vegetarian life. Seriously, I use this app when I visit any new city. It’ll list every vegan, vegetarian and veg-friendly restaurant and store near you and the reviews are super helpful. I don’t know how I ever lived without this app while traveling. It works in most cities but is super helpful here in Da Nang because it’ll lead you to hard-to-find restaurants.
Look for ‘Chay’ Restaurants
Because of the large Buddhist influence here, most big cities in Vietnam have an abundance of “chay” restaurants, which are pure vegetarian (and mostly vegan) eateries. (Chay means vegetarian in Vietnamese.) You’ll usually find quite a few of them clustered around Buddhist temples! But it’s always well worth keeping an eye out for them.

Amazing guide Justine!
Danang’s vegetarian food is absolutely tasty and yummy! It is really hard to find a good vegetarian restaurant with English menu and English-speaking waiters/waitresses in Danang but thanks for your blog post, I found mine favorite!
Keep up with your amazing work, Justine!
