Traveling as a vegetarian or vegan isn’t always easy, but luckily, being plant-based in Vietnam is actually pretty easy, and Da Nang is no exception. At this point, I’ve spent quite a bit of time in this central Vietnamese city, and I’ve spent a fair bit of that time hunting down the very best vegetarian food in Da Nang.
I’ve had a chance to sample all sorts of vegetarian, vegan and vegetarian-friendly restaurants in town and have eaten everything from traditional Vietnamese dishes to Mexican food to vegan ramen. If you’re a vegetarian or vegan and are looking for places to eat, here are my favorite vegan and vegetarian restaurants in Da Nang!

Most of these places are in the beachside area of My Khe and An Thuong since that’s where I usually base myself. But I also visited a few places in the city center. I separated them into sections. Also note that some of these places are pure vegan or vegetarian, while others offer vegetarian and vegan options. I’ve made notes so you know what to expect.
By the way, if you’re traveling around Vietnam, here are some of my other vegetarian city guides:

Da Nang Vegan & Vegetarian Restaurants Near My Khe Beach

Kurumi Vegan Café
When it comes to vegan Da Nang restaurants, Kurumi is arguably one of the best. Located near My Khe Beach, this cozy and cool little eatery serves up healthy international and Vietnamese dishes that are 100% vegan.
The menu here is long and full of tempting culinary creations, making this a great place to dine multiple times. Think Tofu “Benedict” with vegan hollandaise and tempeh bacon for breakfast, Italian Banh Mi with homemade brie cheese, cashew cream cheese, and pesto for lunch, and vegan soups, salads, pastas, and burgers for dinner.
They also have a cool section of Slavic dishes. Try the Potato Vereniky dumplings with cashew dill sauce!

Hours: 8 am – 9:30 pm Monday-Sunday

Annen Yoga & Vegetarian Danang

This is another one of my go-to Da Nang vegetarian restaurants. It’s a small restaurant that dishes out vegetarian versions of regional specialties, such as cau lau noodles and mi quang noodles.
My favorite dishes are the Mi Quang with Vietnamese Pesto, the Cau Lau with mushroom and tofu, and the Banh Mi Annen with tofu, pickled papaya, and pesto (pictured above). This place is a hidden gem and the staff is super friendly.
Address: 7 Chế Lan Viên, Bắc Mỹ An, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng
Hours: 8 am – 5:30 pm Mon-Wed and Sat; 9 am – 5 pm Thurs-Fri, Closed Sunday

Chay Corner – Vietnamese Dumplings

This place specializes in Hue-style dumplings and if you ask me, it’s one of the very best vegetarian restaurants in Da Nang. The dumplings are stuffed with things like soft peas, tofu, and seaweed (30,000₫ per 10 pieces).
Portions are small so feel free to order a bunch. We tried them all and they were all delicious. They also have three types of banh mi (20,000-40,000₫ each). The Vegetarian Sausage Baguette (pictured above) was stuffed with all sorts of veggies and mock meats and is one of my favorite renditions of vegetarian banh mi that I’ve had since moving to Vietnam. And that’s saying a lot!
The menu is long ,though, and you’ll find veggie renditions of Vietnamese salads, noodle soups, fresh rolls, bun xeo pancakes, and rice dishes. The customer service is above and beyond and they deliver using eco-friendly packages for a small fee, which I really appreciate.

Loving Vegan

If you’re looking for Da Nang vegetarian restaurants that serve a range of international and Vietnamese foods, this little vegan eatery is a must. If you need a break from Vietnamese food, the menu features things like gyros, pizzas, burritos, and sandwiches.
The menu has so many tempting options, it’s hard to decide. But some standouts are the Mozza Sticks and Mac & Cheese (both made with cashew cheese!), the Korean Spicy Noodles, Banana Flower Delight Salad, Banh Xeo, Teriyaki Tofu, and Loving Burger.

Roots Plant-Based Café

If you’re looking for healthy vegetarian restaurants in Da Nang, this is the place. Roots serves up smoothie bowls, Buddha bowls, wraps, sandwiches, plant-based burgers, and so much more.
From the Japanese Nori Bowl and the “Raw” Lasagna to the Super Acai Berry smoothie bowl, Crispy Katsu Burger, “Aged Cheese” Baguette, and Tempeh & Rocket Salad, the creative menu will keep you coming back for more.

Tacos Danang

It’s definitely not the best Mexican food in the world (duh, this is Southeast Asia) but I just can’t resist sampling every Mexican food place I come across in Asia. Coming from Southern California, I’m really picky about my Mexican food and I actually really enjoyed the food here!
Everything, from the quesadillas to the tacos, burritos, nachos, and tortas, has a vegetarian and vegan version. Plus, the servers even make a point of asking if you want a vegan or vegetarian version.
Compared to most Mexican restaurants in Southeast Asia, this place is actually cheap. Vegetarian and vegan dishes cost roughly 65,000₫. It’s a fun option if you’re looking for something different.

Da Nang Vegetarian Restaurants in Downtown

Ngoc Chi

If you’re looking for affordable Da Nang vegetarian restaurants, this is a great place. It’s no-frills and super cheap. Their menu is listed on the wall and it is absolutely massive.
They have it all, from mock meat stuffed banh mi to steaming bowls of all sorts of noodle soups to a variety of noodle and rice dishes. I’m fairly certain everything is vegan, but you might want to double-check. It’s very affordable.

Quan Chay Thien Duyen

Hidden down an alley, this super local hole-in-the-wall restaurant serves up rice and noodle dishes and bowls of noodle soup for about 30,000₫. The menu is in Vietnamese, and from what I gather, the owners don’t speak English. I always just point to something and it’s always super good. Try the Cao Lau (pictured above!).

Hours: 6:30 am – 9 pm (they may close for a few hours each afternoon, just FYI)

Take a Vegetarian Food Tour
If you want to take a food tour, which I do suggest doing at the beginning of your trip, this Da Nang Vegetarian Food Walking Tour is not only awesome but it will help you make the most of eating your way around this city vegetarian style. The food in Central Vietnam is so different from what you’ll find in the north or south, so you’ll want to familiarize yourself with the regional dishes ASAP.
And trust me, you’ll be so glad you did. The food in Da Nang and neighboring Hoi An is my absolute favorite in Vietnam. Your local guide will take you to some hidden gems that cook up some of the best vegetarian Vietnamese eats in town!
Helpful Tips
Join a Facebook Group
Be sure to join the Vegetarians and Vegans in Da Nang Facebook group. I found a bunch of these restaurants through people in this group. The veg community is super friendly and helpful.
Download the Happy Cow App
This free app is the love of my vegetarian life. Seriously, I use this app when I visit any new city. It’ll list every vegan, vegetarian, and veg-friendly restaurant and store near you and the reviews are super helpful. I don’t know how I ever lived without this app while traveling. It works in most cities but is super helpful here in Da Nang because it’ll lead you to hard-to-find restaurants.
Look for ‘Chay’ Restaurants
Because of the large Buddhist influence here, most big cities in Vietnam have an abundance of “chay” restaurants, which are pure vegetarian (and mostly vegan) eateries. (Chay means vegetarian in Vietnamese.)
You’ll usually find quite a few of them clustered around Buddhist temples! But it’s always well worth keeping an eye out for “chay” signs.
Hi Justine — Wow, what a thorough review and excellent pictures, mouthwatering!
Makes me want to jump on a plane and join you guys for dinner!
Do it!
Amazing guide Justine!
Danang’s vegetarian food is absolutely tasty and yummy! It is really hard to find a good vegetarian restaurant with English menu and English-speaking waiters/waitresses in Danang but thanks for your blog post, I found mine favorite!
Keep up with your amazing work, Justine!
